Protests against Hondura’s President Juan Orlando Hernández leave several dead and wounded.
The protests began with doctors and teacher strikes following a controversial reform to restructure the education and healthcare sector, which opponents believe is the first step towards privatization of education and health services. The mobilizations have now developed into massive protests from different sectors, with daily protests around the country. Demonstrators demand President Juan Orlando Hernández’s resignation.
According to media reports at least two people have been killed and several injured after armed military policy were sent out to impose order after the demonstrations.
