Organizational Context
We Effect was founded in 1958 to support the development of democratic organisations and societies that have the capacity to articulate the rights and needs of their members in respect of work, influence, services, incomes, and livelihoods.
We Effect works in more than 20 countries in Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and Africa through our regional offices in partnership with local Civil Society Organisations, farmer organisations, cooperative federations, and other democratic organisations.
Objective
The intern will support the Regional HR Office in the following:
- Implementation of the new HR automation system.
- Development of HR portal.
- Development of online resources to enhance the employee experience in the Region.
- Development of a culture resource tool for the Region.
- Assist in organizing HR events and activities.
Working arrangements
- 40-hour week with a hybrid working arrangement.
- Intern will report to the Regional Human Resources Officer.
- Intern to arrange for own medical insurance and be eligible to work in the country of assignment.
- There is no expectation of employment at the end of the internship.
- Please note that the Terms of Reference may be subject to change based on organizational requirements and priorities.

Qualifications
Interested applicants with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply.
Education
Major areas of study – Human Resources Management (HRM), Human Capital Management, People Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
Applicants to have graduated at any of the educational levels listed below, with the internship taking place within two years after graduation.
- Diploma / Professional Certification in HRM.
- Bachelor’s degree in HRM or related field.
- Graduate degree program such as a Master’s degree in HRM or related field.
- Undertake the internship as part of postgraduate professional trainee program.
Desirable experience and skills
- Knowledge / experience in human resources management or related field.
- Background / experience in communications would be an asset.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and MS Office software packages.
- Knowledge / familiarity with HR automation systems or software an advantage.
Languages
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
