Last 22 June 2023, We Effect Philippines marked a significant milestone as it officially launched the GROW Together Programme or Growing Resilient Organizations Working Towards Gender Equality, Transformative Housing and Empowerment of the Ruralfolk in Oriental Mindoro.

The Philippine Programme will seek to further contribute to achieving the goal of providing more equitable access and control of financial resources, land, adequate housing, and other productive assets by the target rights holders (family farmers, indigenous peoples, informal settler families, workers in the informal economy, internally-displaced persons, women, and youth) by building stronger, resilient and gender-transformative social movements among civil society partners working together in advancing their rights.

The programme kick-off commenced with an impactful opening speech delivered by Country Director Jessica Umanos-Soto who underscored the importance of collaborative efforts to drive positive change. A panel discussion followed shortly, that featured the 13 Grow Together programme partners. The discussions centered around crucial topics such as sustainable rural development, adequate housing and habitat, as well as our thematic work on gender, financial inclusion, and environmental concerns, including climate resilience.

The event was highlighted by a surprise recognition ceremony that honored the previous programme partners who had made remarkable contributions during the previous programme cycle – WORKING TOGETHER. Each partner was presented with a Plaque of Recognition acknowledging their positive impact on the communities they served. The ceremony was a testament to the collective achievements of We Effect and its partners under the previous programme.
