To address this challenge, We Effect supports civil society partner organisations to empower women, men, and youth living in poverty to improve their living conditions and claim their rights. We apply a rights-based approach with a strong focus on women’s rights and reducing inequalities.
Through advocacy and policy engagement, We Effect and its partners promote secure land tenure, inclusive financial services, accountable natural resource governance, and improved housing and habitat.
Together with our partner organisations, we contribute to climate change adaptation and mitigation, strengthened livelihood resilience, value addition, enterprise development, and improved market access for smallholder farmers.
In addition, We Effect implements a regional programme across its Southern Africa programme countries: Sustainable Cotton for Women and Youth Empowerment in Southern Africa, which promotes inclusive economic opportunities and sustainable livelihoods for women and young people in the cotton value chain.
